  1. I. Love. Her.

    Me. Too.

She has been my idol since the early days, when she did that song (They Don’t Know About Us, I think was the title?); Sir Paul was in the video.

    And her Broadway play!

    And her dancing!

Did you see the one where she plays an eager young actress/singer/dancer in Hollywood auditioning for a bunch of suits, and after reciting lines and singing, she takes the bottlecaps off their sodas, slams them into the soles of her shoes, leaps up on the boardroom table, and tapdances–brilliantly?

The gay British Airways flight attendant. Francesca with two daddies. The elderly Chinese lady. The middle-Eastern cab driver guy. Ruby the makeup lady. Omigod, she’s simply genius, that’s all.

  2. Genius, definitely. I’m pretty sure I have most of the episodes recorded on VCR tapes. Oh, litbrit, you forgot about poor Kay.

I love the skit where the Witness Protection Program places a mob guy someplace down south, and he finds out that it’s just like the mob.

Or the “Lion Sleeps Tonight” skit – that was just brilliant.

  3. Constant Comment

As it turns out, one of my high school friends was a producer on that show–so I had two reasons to love it. Plus, it birthed “The Simpsons.” Make that three reasons!

    Go home!
