Who in the what now?
Wow! Where the heck did you find that!?! Wasn’t he some sort of private eye in Boston back in the ’70’s?
I watched a lot of this show on A&E several years ago; one of very few American detective series that wasn’t primarily murder mysteries. (In fact, I don’t think anyone was ever killed on the show.)
For those unfamiliar, Banacek was a freelance insurance investigator (yes, in Boston). He was called in occasionally to investigate “impossible” thefts that nearly always turned out to be frauds involving elaborate misdirections. For example, the theft of a room-sized medical supercomputer (yes, this was the ’70s) turned out to be a facade full of blinkenlights, which could be turned around to blend into the room’s paneling.
