Announcement: shakin’ & bakin’

Shakesville has a Myspace page and also a Facebook group!

Mainly, both are ways to keep communication going in case anything happens to the blog(s) again but they’re also another way for Shakers to network/communicate with each other. 🙂

So come add Shakesville to your friend list or join the Facebook group!

  1. Are you guys taking Myspace friend requests? I was going to request Shakesville as a Myspace friend, but I have to enter the correct last name or email address to do that. Any hints?

My band has a myspace page & I was going to add you to my friends list, but you don’t accept friend requests from bands. Why? I’ve never really understood that.

  3. I have to enter the correct last name

Try McEwan. If that doesn’t work, let me know.

you don’t accept friend requests from bands. Why?

Dunno. Is that a default selection or something? We can change that.

    Yeah, it’s McEwan.

Bands can now do the add friends thing.

    “Like, we’re with the band!”

  6. BDM

    Thanks for the add.

  7. McEwan worked for me 🙂

Hey there…de-lurking to post this lil’ tidbit, which I found this morning:

Facebook blocks those with Gay name from joining site
Sydney Morning Herald, Posted: 7/12/2007, 12:48 AM
You’re allowed to be Hitler, but don’t even try being Gay on social networking site Facebook. It’s been revealed that the popular website — which boasts it has over 30 million members from around the world — does not allow people with the common surname Gay to join, assuming it is not a legitimate name. In a test of using the last name Gay, the website would not allow the new member to join. “Please enter a legitimate name,” the website stated during our attempt. And while the website refused Gay, it had no problem allowing us to join with the last name Hitler.

    Ahem.
