Actual Headline

President respects justice. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha—gasp!—ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Good one.

Go on with your bad self, Tony Snow (inexplicably given some prime spin-space in USA Today to spew your usual bullshittery):

The president was not motivated by politics in making this decision. If he had made the decision based on opinion polls, he wouldn’t have lifted a finger. Instead, he did what he does normally, and what makes those of us who work for him proud. He proceeded on the basis of principle, and arrived at a sound and just decision — knowing he would take hits in the court of public opinion, but also knowing he was doing the right thing.

If a blogger screams “WEV!!!!!” at the top of the lungs and no one hears her, does that mean she should go apologize to the cats for freaking them out?

I just hope the conservative are just as willing to stand behind a President who does what they think is best, despite what the popular opinion might happen to be, when that president’s last name is Clinton.

    Or Obama.

    Or Edwards.

    Or…

  2. To paraphrase Victor Laszlo in Casablanca:

You know how you sound, Mr. Snow? Like a man who’s trying to convince himself of something he doesn’t believe in his heart.

I can’t believe that at some point his head won’t just explode from all the bullshit.

knowing he would take hits in the court of public opinion, but also knowing he was doing the right thing.

What a bunch of bullshit. The court of public opinion is of no consequence to him anymore. It is the metaphorical “fuck you” that is shouted from the electric chair. There is no winning now, so why try to look like you’re making nice?

  4. It also occurs to me that the White House must know how far up Shit Creek they are when they have to put out op-eds like this. It’s the equivalent of “I am not a crook.”

well, that goes along nicely with the AP headline i just saw on the Albuquerque Journal’s site: “White House Criticizes Clintons on Libby”. that’s enough spin to knock the earth off its orbit.

I never believed his actions were politically based, I believe they are saving his own skin based.

BREAKING NEWS : Judge Gladys Kessler has lifted the temporary restraining order on the D.C. Madam’s phone records.

Nah, if you’re like me, the cats are used to it. My cats usually go take a shit whenever I scream “WEV,” signalling to me that they understand my pain.

You should apologize to the cats!
I’m am so sick of this and Fox News big headline this morning “John Edwards 4 billion dollar haircut!!!!!!”
Not “Scotter Libby comes up with a quarter mil less than a week after his sentence is commuted”
    ARRRGGHHHHH

  10. That link stunk even before I clicked it… I’ve tromped through pastures with less bullshit.

  11. I had to laugh when Tony Snow brought up Clinton’s eleventh-hour pardons (including tax evader Marc Rich, one of the most controversial of his pardons) as part of the Criminal-in-Chief’s defense of commuting Scooter Libby’s sentence.

Remember who was Marc Rich’s defense attorney, Tony? It’s a small world af-ter-allllllll

    Asshats. The lot of them.

  12. I almost shat myself when I saw Snowjob’s press conference. I couldn’t believe his shtick..seriously..does he really believe the majority of people buy that crap he spews from the podium?

And then to spin it by going after the Clintons really jacked my jaw. The reichwingers favorite target..like it makes one iota of difference what Clinton did when we are talking about the outing of a CIA agent.

Marc Rich didn’t cause CIA agents to tremble with the fear that the BIG Dick Cheney would find a reason to out them if he felt they somehow crossed him. He didn’t cause a National Security Breach like Scooter and his cronies did when they decided to go after Valerie Plame and Joe.

But they don’t like it when the facts get in the way of their rants do they?

    Fuckwits..
