Shakespedia

You’ll notice on the top navbar I’ve added a page called “Inside Jokes, FAQ, & Wev,” the content of which is pretty self-explanatory. If you’ve got the time and inclination, give it a perusal and let me know if there’s anything I missed.

    Where is the pink petulance?

  2. Hahaha that’s awesome.

  3. Where is the pink petulance?

I was going to ask the same thing.

    Where is the pink petulance?

    Ah, thanks. I’ll add. 🙂

Thanks for doing this – it definitely reduces the entry barriers for new folks.

  6. Ahhh, the Virtual Pub: Sometimes it’s low-key, sometimes it’s wild, but it’s always interesting.

    Amen, sistah,amen.

  7. Thank you, Liss, for making your site more welcoming for the Shakes-impaired. I adore any chance I get to see MamaShakes’ WTP portrait — maybe you code your site so that every time WTP was typed, there would a thumbnail of that graphic (cuz I know you don’t have enuf ta do 😉 )

On a “serious” note — I’d love to see a live-link to the wiki on “trolling”, in the comments policy section. I’ve run into an amazing number of people who don’t seem to know what a troll is.

  8. a troll is someone who intentionally posts derogatory or otherwise inflammatory messages about sensitive topics in an established online community

Yeah, you can say that again.

  9. and sometimes they do it in an unestablished online non-community.

  10. PortlyDyke, you are far from “Shakes-impaired.” You fit in nicely. And I’m glad you are around.

  11. Thanks, kona — right back atcha! You have caused me to dust off a big section of my music collection, thanks to you “letting the madness take you”.

I was going to suggest that Shakes include a section on the communicability rates of “konagod syndrome”, but I would only want to do that if you understood that this was pure and unadulterated affection, rather than snarkiness of any kind.

  12. i’m glad you pointed it out. i think it’s great. i was going to ask about TPP, but i see others already have.

  13. when the hell did you change them to Sporadicals?

  14. when the hell did you change them to Sporadicals?

When I did the FAQ. I came up with the same awhile ago and liked it better than Stormy Petrels, since no one knew what the hell a stormy petrel is.

For the record, they’re seabirds who are known to hang around the edges of storms, which has turned the phrase into something meaning a trouble-maker or rebel. But no one seems to know that but me, lol.

When I did the FAQ. I came up with the same awhile ago and liked it better than Stormy Petrels, since no one knew what the hell a stormy petrel is.

I kind of liked Stormy Petrel just for the sheer incomprehensibility of it. 😉

…but yay! Sporadicals get the important task of spreading those Radical Spores!
