  1. Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes!!!!!!

I loved this show!! It didn’t last very long at all, and I was pretty young, but I loved it!!!!

    Huge Paul Lynde fan.

  2. Little known fact: Pamela Ferdin was in every single television program, except the news, filmed for US TV from 1968-75.

Another little known fact: Paul Lynde was teh gay.

BTW, the original Hollywood Squares rocked.

  3. MR. Bill

Somehow I missed the Paul Lynde show..
I really enjoyed the comedy stylings of TV’s “confirmed bachelor”.

And off topic, Argentinian researcher report that they appear to have treated Jet Lag in hamsters’ with Viagra. Which gets a big WTF from me.

Oh, Fafblog, thou shoulds’t be blogging in this hour.

  4. Another little known fact: Paul Lynde was teh gay.

LOL! He was, in fact, teh gayest gay.

    I absolutely adore him.

  5. Ivory Bill Woodpecker

I vaguely remember his sitcom, and I remember seeing him on “Hollywood Squares”, and that he did a bunch of cartoon characters’ voices. I thought he was funny. As for teh ghey, I was going to grade school at the time, and I didn’t even know teh ghey EXISTED yet.

I looked Pamelyn Ferdin up on Wikipedia. These days, she is a registered nurse and an animal-rights activist. She also holds the unfortunate distinction of playing one of the young’uns in THE SINGLE WORST EPISODE OF THE ORIGINAL “STAR TREK” EVER TO POLLUTE THE AIRWAVES, “AND THE CHILDREN SHALL LEAD”.

Izzat the one with Melvin Belli as the “friendly angel”?

  7. Ivory Bill Woodpecker

According to the Pamelyn Ferdin entry at memory-alpha.org, she holds the distinction of being the only one of Clint Eastwood’s co-stars to have “killed” him; that is, her character killed his character. In 1971’s THE BEGUILED, her character picks the mushrooms used to poison Eastwood’s character.

She has her own website, pamelynferdin.com.

  8. Ivory Bill Woodpecker

Mr. Bill: Yes, that’s the one.

  9. Always liked Paul on “Squares,” watched the first few episodes of his short-lived sitcom, thought it was dreadful even when I was 10. Today I’m sure the show looks like Golden Age entertainment compared to most comedies on the broadcast networks. TV still mostly blows–though I do like watching the Lost DVDs.

  10. He was so gay in Bewitched. But he was gay period. What a joke on America if they didn’t get it. I had totally forgotten he had his own show though.

My favorite lyndism of all time, from the squares:

Q: What are you doing if you have an ounce of silver nitrate, a pick-axe, and a rope?

    Lynde: Joan Crawford’s Eyebrows.

I’d forgotten The Paul Lynde Show too.

My friends and I decided Bewitched is the gayest show in the history of television. I mean, Agnes Moorehead, Maurice Evans and Paul Lynde all in the same cast? (And one of the Darrins, of course.)
